What you must provide

1 71 data points enumerated in the Commission guidance, of which 47 are mandatory for electric vehicle batteries at 18 February 2027, 50 for LMT and 32 for industrial above 2 kWh
2 A unique identifier conforming to the ISO/IEC 15459 series, carried by a QR code on every battery (Article 77(3))
3 Registration in the EU digital product passport registry, which the Commission had to set up by 19 July 2026 under Article 13(1) of Regulation (EU) 2024/1781 and announced as live on 20 July 2026. As of 26 September 2026 the registry does not yet accept battery registrations
4 A carbon footprint declaration and performance class under Article 7, once the methodology delegated acts are adopted. They were due by 18 February 2024 for electric vehicle batteries and by 18 February 2025 for rechargeable industrial batteries without external storage; none had been adopted as of 26 September 2026, so the obligation has not commenced
5 Third-party verification of carbon footprint data, on the same conditional timing as the declaration itself

Traceable generates a QR code in GS1 Digital Link format for each product that has a GTIN. Under ESPR Article 13(1) the Commission had to set up the digital product passport registry by 19 July 2026; Traceable's EU Registry Readiness page prepares a registration submission file that you upload in your own registry session. As of 26 September 2026 the registry does not yet accept battery registrations.
